Charlie Blackmon Goes Deep On Friday
4 years agoColorado Rockies right fielder Charlie Blackmon went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 11-6 loss to the Dodgers. The Rockies were getting blanked through the first six innings as Dodgers' starter Trevor Bauer was rolling, throwing a no-hitter. Trevor Story reached base via a single in the bottom of the seventh before Blackmon smashed a two-run homer to right center field to put the Rockies on the board. Colorado ended up scoring all six of their runs via home run in the same frame but they still fell short of victory. Blackmon is coming off a six home run and 42 RBI campaign in 2020 with a .303/.356/.448 batting line. He doesn't steal bases like he used to and the power has declined over the last few years but he'll still put up solid numbers hitting in the heart of the Rockies' lineup this season.
