Charlie Morton Begins Season With 12 Scoreless Innings
7 years agoHouston Astros pitcher Charlie Morton has picked up right where he left off in the 2017 World Series and has begun the 2018 season with 12 scoreless innings. Morton has looked very sharp out of the gates, allowing only four hits in six shutout innings Sunday against the Padres. Morton may be a late bloomer, but the 34-year-old has finally entered his prime it seems. Morton struck out 163 batters through 146 2/3 innings in 2017 while winning a career-high 14 games and dominated in the postseason. It is only two starts, but Morton could have a shot at even better numbers in 2018 while pitching for a lineup that is stacked offensively. Morton is absolutely worth a look if he still available in certain fantasy formats.
