6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Charlie Morton allowed two earned runs, struck out seven and walked three over five innings against the White Sox on Tuesday. Morton said after the game that he was having trouble commanding his fastball, which got him behind in counts early in the game. He leaned on his breaking pitches through most of the start and racked up 93 pitches through five innings while earning the win. Morton has only gone six innings once in his three starts but has posted a 33.3 percent strikeout rate and a 1.64 ERA. He won't be this dominant all season, but he's looking to be a smart draft pick despite his age and new division. He'll get his next start against the Blue Jays on either Saturday or Sunday in a plus matchup.--Zach Alexander
