5 years agoTampa Bay Rays starter Charlie Morton will take the ball Wednesday against the A's in the American League Wild Card elimination game. Morton has been an excellent addition for a young Rays team this season, going 16-6 with a 3.05 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP with 240 strikeouts through 194 2/3 innings this season. Morton has especially enjoyed success against the A's, posting a 2.97 career ERA against them. The veteran has held the A's this season to only one run on six hits through 13 1/3 innings with 13 strikeouts in two starts.
