Charlie Morton Sits Down Nine
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Charlie Morton held the Royals to one run over 6 2/3 innings on Thursday. He ended the day with nine strikeouts, one walk and allowed five hits. This gem gives him a 2.52 ERA with a WHIP of 1.09 with 48 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings. Brandon Lowe waited until the ninth inning to lift the Rays out of a 1-1 tie, so Morton didn’t earn the win, though he sits at 3-0 on the season. Morton has carried his brilliance over from last year and should be one of the more trusted fantasy starters at this point in the season. He lines up to see Arizona in his next matchup and is a must-start until further notice.
