3 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Chas McCormick (hand) was activated from the 10-day-injured list and on Friday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reported. The 26-year-old rookie has been sidelined since August 21 with left hand soreness and was placed on IL on August 24. McCormick is having a solid freshman campaign in Houston, hitting .260/.319/.466 with 11 home runs, 42 RBI, three stolen bases, and 39 runs scored on 57 hits. He will bat seventh on Friday against San Diego Padres right-hander Jake Arrieta, who continues to have a shockingly bad season.--Chelena Goldman
