Chase Claypool, Pat Freiermuth Considered Day-To-Day
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that wide receiver Chase Claypool (shoulder) and tight end Pat Freiermuth (hamstring) are both day-to-day after they suffered injuries in Friday's training camp practice. The Steelers will be cautious with their two starters early in training camp, and both players should be ready well in time for Week 1. Claypool took a step back in 2021, even with JuJu Smith-Schuster missing most of the season with an injury, and he's likely to remain an inconsistent wideout option given the Steelers less-than-stellar quarterback situation. Freiermuth went well over expectations in his rookie year and should be a nice safety blanket for Mitch Trubisky or whoever the Steelers have under center this year.
