Chase Claypool Setting Up As Early Draft Value
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool turned a lot of heads when he scored 10 touchdowns as a rookie for his team in 2020. Claypool should continue to improve in his sophomore campaign as he has a full year of NFL experience under his belt. Offseason reports indicate that slimmed-down quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's surgically repaired right elbow is much stronger than it was last season, which is good news for Claypool as the team's primary deep threat in the offense. The Steelers relied primarily on short passes in 2020 but they could open the offense up a bit if Big Ben's arm is in fact feeling stronger. Claypool's mid-July ADP has him going in the early seventh round of fantasy drafts in PPR leagues, setting him up as a value for the upcoming season. If everything breaks right for the Pittsburgh offense this season, Claypool has a shot to finish as a low-end WR1 or high-end WR2 in fantasy leagues this year.
