Chase Elliott Picks Up Victory Under Caution At Talladega
6 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott passed Penske Racing's Joey Logano with four laps to go in the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, posting the fourth win of his Monster Energy Cup Series career, and the first win for manufacturer Chevrolet in 2019. The win by Elliott also breaks up a seven-race dominating run by Ford at Talladega. A wreck which collected Kyle Larson, Elliott's teammate William Byron and Jeffrey Earnhardt brought out the yellow flag on the final lap, as the race ended under caution. He'll try to carry over the momentum into Dover where he leads all active drivers with a 4.33 Average-Finish Position, scoring a win and five top-5 finishes in six career starts at the Monster Mile.
