Chase Young Likely To Begin Training Camp On PUP List
2 years agoWashington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said that defensive end Chase Young (knee) will "more than likely" begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Young is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in mid-November of last year, and he hasn't taken part in any offseason activities to this point. If the 23-year-old remains on the PUP list once Week 1 rolls around, he'll have to miss at least the first six games of the season. The former second overall pick was a Pro Bowler in his rookie season in 2020, but he only played in nine games last year while recording 26 tackles (15 solo), 1.5 sacks, three tackles for loss, four QB hits and two fumble recoveries. Young will still be attractive in IDP leagues if he's ready for the season opener, but he could get off to a slow start.
