4 years agoUnfortunately unable to get her hand raised at the end of her bout like her husband on Saturday, Cheyanne Buys took the decision loss against newcomer Montserrat Ruiz. JP Buys, Cheyanne's husband, competed on the prelims but suffered a knockout loss. Though Buys out-struck Ruiz in the significant-strike department (31 to 15), she was greatly out-struck overall (49 to 136.) As expected, Ruiz used her ground game to keep Buys under control. The Fortis MMA product will continue to grow, as this was not only her UFC debut, but only her seventh professional fight.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
