Chi Chi Gonzalez Allows Four Runs In No-Decision
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez took a no-decision on Friday when he allowed four runs on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts in a 9-6 win over the Dodgers. This was actually one of Gonzalez's better starts over the last month and a half, which shows you how bad he's been. He coughed up three runs in the first and then gave up a solo home run to Justin Turner in the third inning before shutting out the Dodgers over his final two innings of work. The Rockies would come back to retake the lead and eventually win the game so he ended up with a no-decision. The 29-year-old owns a rough 6.06 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 53:24 K/BB ratio over 90 2/3 innings (19 appearances, 15 starts) on the season. He's slated to face the Padres on the road in his next start but you have to wonder how much longer the Rockies will keep throwing him out there given his struggles.
