Chi Chi Gonzalez Allows Three Runs In Spot Start
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez allowed three runs on four hits across three innings in a 7-5 win over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday. Gonzalez was filling in for Austin Gomber, who was placed on the paternity list and performed as well as you would expect. He served up a two-run homer to Wil Myers in the top of the second inning before allowing an RBI single to Manny Machado in the third. He was pulled after three innings and didn't record a strikeout or a walk. The 29-year-old now owns an ugly 6.15 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 53:24 K/BB ratio over 93 2/3 innings (20 appearances, 16 starts). It's unclear if he'll get another start in the coming week but if he does, it'll come against the Cubs on the road. He has no fantasy value as a starter or a reliever though.
