Chi Chi Gonzalez Gets The Win On Thursday
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez earned the win on Thursday when he allowed three runs on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts over five innings in a 9-3 win over the D-Backs. Gonzalez was far from perfect on Thursday but the Rockies' offense came to play and provided more than enough run support for him. The big mistake he made was serving up a two-run homer to Josh VanMeter in the bottom of the fifth inning. His five strikeouts were the most he's had in his last five starts. The 29-year-old heads into the All-Star break with a 5.51 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 47:21 K/BB ratio over 81 2/3 innings (17 appearances, 13 starts). He's not really on the fantasy radar given his low strikeout upside and inconsistency.
