Chi Chi Gonzalez Limits Giants To One Run Over Five Innings
4 years agoColorado Rockies right-handed pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez took a no-decision on Saturday when he allowed one run on four hits with three walks and a strikeout over five innings in a 4-3 loss to the Giants. This was Gonzalez's third appearance of the season but his first start and he actually did a decent job holding down the San Francisco offense. He allowed an RBI single to Alex Dickerson in the bottom of the third inning but was able to minimize the damage after that. He scattered four hits and three walks and was in line for the win until Ben Bowden coughed up a three-run home run to Brandon Crawford in the sixth inning. Gonzalez now owns a 3.60 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 5:6 K/BB ratio over 10 innings (one start). He'll get the Mets at home in his next turn but should be avoided for fantasy purposes in that one.
