Chi Chi Gonzalez Set For Coors Field Return Monday

4 years agoColorado Rockies right-handed pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez will enter the team’s starting rotation Monday when he faces the Giants. In six career starts at the hitter’s haven, Gonzalez has allowed five home runs across 25 2/3 innings, amassing a 5.26 ERA, which lends credence to the thought of stacking as many Giants into DFS lineups as possible. San Francisco manager Gabe Kapler has been explicit in his intention to platoon left-handed hitters against right-handed pitching, and Gonzalez has yielded a .270 career average to lefties, as opposed to .216 against righties. It’s tough to see a path in which owners would roster a Coors starter regardless, but Monday’s meeting seems particularly vulnerable to an uptick in offensive production.--Jesse Borek
