Chiefs, Orlando Brown Can't Reach An Agreement
2 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs and left tackle Orlando Brown made a final run at a long-term contract extension before Friday's deadline, but they couldn't reach an agreement. The Chiefs offered Brown more based on average per year than San Francisco 49ers All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams, but structure and security were the issues. Brown will now play the 2022 season on the franchise tag, and a training camp holdout this summer is possible. The 26-year-old has yet to sign the franchise tender and skipped organized team activities in the spring. Contract issues aside, the three-time Pro Bowler should continue to provide great protection for quarterback Patrick Mahomes when he's on the field.
