Chiefs Release Josh Gordon
2 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs released wide receiver Josh Gordon on Tuesday, according to a source. Gordon showed great character on the field and in the community since he arrived in Kansas City, and the team is open to him returning, but he's currently the odd-man out. The 31-year-old veteran caught just five passes on 14 targets for 32 yards and one touchdown in 12 regular season games (seven starts) last year with the Chiefs. Even with Tyreek Hill now in Miami, Gordon was unable to separate himself in the receiver competition. KC's top wideouts entering Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals are expected to be JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mecole Hardman and rookie Skyy Moore.
