3 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs are researching wide receiver Mike Williams, according to Adam Beasley of Pro Football Network. Although the Los Angeles Chargers plan to place the franchise tag on the impending free agent, their division-mates in Missouri are still doing their due diligence in case the wideout happens to reach the open market. Williams, 27, truly broke out during his contract year this past season. After injuries and limited production riddled his first four years in the pros, Williams answered with 14 starts through 16 games in 2021, all while catching 76 passes for 1,149 yards and nine touchdowns. The former seventh overall pick blossomed into a WR2 for fantasy purposes despite playing behind Keenan Allen, and there's reason to believe that he could find similar success playing with Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Patrick Mahomes — that is, if he makes it to free agency. The franchise tag deadline is March 8 at 4 p.m. EST.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
