6 years agoNew Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Chris Archer is expected to make his debut on Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Archer's overall numbers aren't that impressive, as he holds a 3-5 record with a 4.31 ERA and a 102/31 K/BB ratio on the season. However, over his last 43 1/3 innings, Archer has pitched to a 2.70 ERA and a 50/16 K/BB ratio. His numbers show that he is a much better pitcher facing non-AL East foes. Archer should be the Pirates' ace for the rest of the season until 2021 and makes for an excellent play whenever he's on the mound.--Dan Fappiano
