Chris Bassitt Not Terribly Sharp In Victory
6 years agoOakland Athletics right-handed starting pitcher Chris Bassitt allowed five earned runs, six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over five innings in a victory against the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. Bassitt was staked to a 6-3 lead after a big bottom of the fifth by his offense, but he coughed up two runs before recording an out in the sixth and was lifted in favor of Yusmeiro Petit and the Oakland bullpen. Overall Bassitt has managed a 3-1 record, 3.27 ERA and 1.14 WHIP, emerging as a decent AL-only fantasy option. He'll make a second start in the scoring period opposite Gerrit Cole and the visiting Houston Astros on Sunday.
