Chris Bassitt Takes Tough Loss In Stellar Season Debut
7 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Chris Bassitt gave a great performance in his first start of the season but took the loss in a 2-0 game against the Royals. Bassitt pitched seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Unfortunately, his offense could not get anything going to support him. Bassitt was called up for a spot start with Trevor Cahill dealing with a minor Achilles issue. It is unclear when both Cahill and Bassitt will make their next starts, or if Bassitt will even stay up with the A's, so Bassitt should not be rostered until things become clearer.
