The loss took his record to 7-7 on the season as he struck out 11 on the night while allowing four hits and no walks in the 89-pitch effort. Bassitt retired the first 12 batters he faced in the contest and made just one mistake on the night when Manny Machado took him to left-center for a two-run shot in the sixth inning to open the scoring.
