Chris Bassitt Traded To Mets
3 years agoThe New York Mets have traded for right-handed pitcher Chris Bassitt, according to ESPN. Minor league pitchers J.T. Ginn and Adam Oller will head to Oakland in exchange for the 2021 All- Star. Bassitt was having a strong season for the A's before his season was derailed by facial fractures after being hit with a line drive on August 17. Bassitt would return to make two September starts and finished the season 12-4 with a 3.15 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 159 strikeouts across 157 1/3 innings. He should slot in as a strong third starter in New York behind aces Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer. With an average draft position just outside the top-130, Bassitt is a good value in fantasy drafts.
