Chris Carson Designated To Return From Injured Reserve
3 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson (neck) was designated to return from IR on Wednesday, starting his 21-day clock towards activation. Now, this doesn't mean Carson will definitely be on the field on Sunday; however, practicing on Wednesday is a big first step. If Carson responds well to practice and taking hits over the next few days, it's possible that he and Russell Wilson could both return against the Packers. Alex Collins has played well enough to warrant a few carries each game in relief of Carson, especially since Carson has a long history of bumps and bruises the Seahawks will want to monitor. Another key factor is that we're not sure how pass-heavy the Seahawks offense will be as Russ recovers from a finger injury. It's entirely possible that the first few weeks could feature a run-heavy offense with both Carson and Collins seeing work, so it's best not to drop Collins quite yet outside of really shallow leagues.
