6 years agoSeattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that running back Chris Carson (hip) will return in Week 5 against the Rams, but Carson's return won't come at the expense of Mike Davis. Carson was a surprise inactive in Week 4. “He’s (Davis is) going to fit in somewhere. He needs to play. He needs to be a part of it. We’ll work that out," Carroll said. Davis came out of nowhere on Sunday for 21 carries and 101 yards in the win. Rookie Rashaad Penny remained in a secondary role behind Davis, and it's clear that the team doesn't think Penny is ready for a big role just yet. While Penny was the second back behind Davis, he also returned three kickoffs 65 yards. Carroll said Penny would again field kickoffs this weekend against Los Angeles. Davis is the current leader of this backfield, with Carson second when healthy and Penny now third. However, this backfield could change week-to-week, so be prepared. For now, Davis will be a hot pickup off the waiver wire.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
