3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Ellis was designated for assignment on Wednesday. Right-hander Ryan Yarbrough was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list in a corresponding move. Ellis was impressive in his debut by shutting down the Orioles over four innings to pick up his first career win on Wednesday. Despite the terrific performance, the 28-year-old will be sent down to make room for Ryan Yarbrough. Yarbrough is expected to follow an opener in Wednesday's contest against the Baltimore Orioles. Fantasy managers in deep-league formats can use Yarbrough as a streamer but shouldn't expect the southpaw to go deep into the game in his first start back. The 29-year-old owns a 4.76 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 4.42 FIP across 119 innings in 2021.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
