Chris Godwin Misses Practice Thursday, Likely Out Saturday

2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin (knee) was held out of Thursday's practice, which would have marked his final opportunity to get up to game speed before Saturday's preseason finale vs. Indianapolis. Godwin has been sidelined since he sustained a torn ACL and sprained MCL last December, which prematurely cut short another strong season. The 26-year-old is set to factor significantly into Tampa Bay's offense once cleared, as he hauled in 98 receptions for 1,103 yards last season with Tom Brady under center. Head coach Todd Bowles indicated that healthy Bucs starters will play in the preseason finale, but Godwin is facing his next potential game action coming Sept. 11 when the team opens the regular season vs. the Cowboys.--Jesse Borek
