Chris Godwin Suffers Torn ACL, Out For The Season
3 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin (knee) suffered a torn ACL in Sunday night's loss to the Saints, which will bring an end to the upcoming free agent's 2021 season. The injury did not appear to be that serious at first glance, but further testing showed the ACL tear. The Tampa Bay offense will be shorthanded next week, but the return of Antonio Brown will help the cause with Godwin now out of the picture. Brown saw 32 targets from Week 4 to Week 6, so he could immediately enter the WR2 discussion in Week 16 when the Bucs travel to Carolina. Tyler Johnson was able to catch four passes for 41 yards on seven targets after Godwin and Mike Evans (hamstring) exited the game in Week 15, so the sophomore figures to see an uptick in fantasy value with his role almost certainly to be increased.
