5 years agoOakland Athletics catcher Chris Herrmann (knee) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday, manager Bob Melvin said. He will play five innings in the first game action back after right knee surgery. Once he is healthy he will force the A's into a tough situation, as they already have catcher Josh Phegley playing well and they have been happy with Nick Hundley, too. Even when Herrmann is able to return, avoid him for fantasy purposes until the murky catcher situation in Oakland becomes more clear.--Daniel Dobish
