Chris Manhertz Leading Jaguars Tight End Room
3 years agoJacksonville Jaguars veteran tight end Chris Manhertz is taking charge of the team's tight end room that lacks established passing-game contributors at the NFL level. Per SI's John Shipley, "Manhertz is Jacksonville's appointed leader of the tight end room," and "he is seeing more targets with the starting offense and being asked to win as a route-runner on a more frequent basis." Manhertz has dominated as a blocker throughout his five-year career, but he's only amassed 12 receptions in that time. Manhertz and the team are clearly looking for him to at least triple his career reception total this season, but it remains to be seen if he is actually capable of doing so. Manhertz is off the radar in fantasy leagues at this point in time, but he could be a factor if he becomes Trevor Lawrence's preferred TE target on the team.
