4 years agoAtlanta Braves relief pitcher Chris Martin (shoulder) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation according to David O'Brien of The Athletic. Martin had been out since Sunday, after exiting his appearance early when he felt numbness in his fingers on his throwing hand, and he had been listed as day-to-day since then. O'Brien said the team made the decision to place him on the IL as a result of a throwing session on Friday afternoon. Martin had a strong Spring Training in which he struck out six of the nine batters he faced in three perfect innings of work, and he figured to be the next guy in line for saves behind Will Smith.
