4 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Chris Mazza (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list with shoulder inflammation, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Mazza had just pitched on Friday night, allowing just one hit over three scoreless innings to close out the game against Toronto. After the game though, he complained of soreness in his shoulder, and testing found he was dealing with some inflammation. Mazza had been off to a rough start this year, posting an 8.49 ERA and a 6.1 percent strikeout rate in 11 2/3 innings.
