4 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman Chris Owings had a memorable day at the dish in Thursday's Opening Day win. He went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored, a pair of stolen bases, and a walk in the Rockies 8-5 victory over the Dodgers. Owings surprisingly drew the start over Ryan McMahon at second base but that was most likely because the Rockies were facing a lefty in Clayton Kershaw. Owings scored the team's first run in the bottom of the third inning and broke up a 4-4 tie when he smacked a single off Kershaw to score C.J. Cron in the bottom of the sixth. The 29-year-old won't be an everyday player for the Rockies but he could serve as a decent streamer or DFS play moving forward, especially when playing at home and facing a left-hander, like he did on Thursday.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
