3 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman Chris Owings (thumb) is "getting closer" to returning to the lineup, according to manager Bud Black. The 29-year-old currently sits on the 60-day injured list with a sprained left thumb but is eligible to come off next Wednesday. Owings has looked good this season despite only appearing in a limited capacity due to injuries, sporting a .533 average to go along with eight hits, six runs, three RBI, and two stolen bases.
