Chris Paddack Good As Advertised In Debut
6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Chris Paddack was excellent in a no-decision Sunday against the San Francisco Giants, completing five innings of one-run ball. In his first career big league start, Paddack was perfect through 3 1/3 frames and didn’t allow a hit until the fifth inning. He ended up surrendering two hits, a walk and struck out seven before exiting after 79 pitches. The 23-year-old rookie won a starting job after an electric spring training and was as good as advertised, looking comfortable throughout the afternoon. Paddack’s upside will be capped by a start-by-start pitch count and innings limit later in the season, but he’s the most exciting Padres starter to own in fantasy.
