5 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Chris Paddack was ineffective on Tuesday, allowing three earned runs in a loss against the New York Mets. The fiery rookie needed 88 pitches to survive five innings, yielding five hits and two walks. He struck out four and served up two critical long balls to veteran second baseman Robinson Cano. Paddack earned the ire of Mets fans when he created a rivalry with star first baseman Pete Alonso in May, so he had to wear it on Tuesday with the tough outing. The 23-year-old still sits with a pretty 2.84 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 9.4 K/9 and is a strong fantasy play anytime he takes the bump. However, with an innings cap looming, his season-long value is diminishing by the week.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
