Chris Paddack Shuts Down Braves
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Chris Paddack fired five frames of shutout ball in Game 1 of a doubleheader Wednesday against the Atlanta Braves. The right-hander required a crisp 77 pitches, limiting the Braves to three singles while walking none and striking out one. He likely could've gone deeper but the Friars went to the bullpen in the shortened contest. Paddack's volatile season continues as he now carries a 5.17 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 23 strikeout rate over 87 frames. His next start will come at home next Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics. He'll be a shaky spot-starter at Petco Park where he owns a 6.94 ERA.
