Chris Paddack Tapped For Opening Day
4 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Chris Paddack will officially take the bump on Opening Day against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The declaration was expected after Padres brass touted him all summer camp. Paddack built up to six innings during his intrasquad starts so should be ready for the season. As one of baseball’s potential breakout players, the 24-year-old will seek to build off a 3.33 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 9.8 K/9 rookie campaign. If Paddack can harness a third pitch to complement his heater and wipeout slider, he should pay handsome dividends as an upside SP2.
