5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale struck out 12 over 6 2/3 innings, while allowing five runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks in Tuesday's 10-inning victory over the Indians. In the win, Sale accrued his 2,000th career punch out, making him the fastest player in baseball history to do so, needing just 1,626 innings to accomplish the feat. It's been a very interesting year for the southpaw, as he's 6-11 with a 4.40 ERA, 218 K, and a 1.09 WHIP in 147 1/3 innings. The Red Sox have two days off in the next week, so Sale will get the ball against the Phillies at home on Tuesday.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
