6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale allowed five earned runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings of an 11-2 loss to the Dodgers on Saturday. Sale struck out seven and walked just one, while also surrendering a solo home run. The southpaw gave up two runs through the first three innings before two run-scoring doubles in the fifth chased Sale from the game. The Dodgers are obviously a tough matchup, but Sale has now allowed five earned runs in each of his last three starts. He's now 3-9 on the year with a 4.27 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 110 strikeouts. However, a FIP of 3.36 says he's still dealing with some bad luck. Nonetheless, Sale is still one of baseball's elite arms and should be started without question, including his next start against the Blue Jays on Thursday.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
