Chris Sale Hopeful To Be Ready For Opening Day
5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (illness) threw a bullpen session on Sunday and hopes to be ready for Opening Day against the Blue Jays on March 26. “I think I’m going to be ready for it but those aren’t my calls to make,” The ace said on Saturday. The 30-year-old had his workouts delayed by a few days early in spring training because of pneumonia. Sale has been making progress and has stated that his arm feels good and that he's at full strength after being shut down for the remainder of the season in August. Fantasy owners will hope that the seven-time All-Star gets off to a great start and puts together a strong season for the Red Sox after finishing with a 6-11 record and a 4.40 ERA over 147 1/3 innings in 2019.
