Chris Sale Set For Home-Opener Start
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale will open the home portion of the team's schedule on Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. So far, Sale has had an interesting first two outings of 2019. After allowing seven runs in just three innings on Opening Day, he improved to span six innings and allow just one run on three hits in his second start last Tuesday. Through nine innings, the Sox's ace has a 5:4 K/BB ratio. If the counting stats don't make you scratch your head, Sale's four-seam fastball has averaged just 90.7 mph, while he's caught 12.9 percent of barrels so far. Regardless, the matchup at home with the Blue Jays on a cold day is a positive one and you can fire up Sale in all season-long formats. For DFS, Sale's early-season question marks along with the expected cold temperature in Boston will likely draw many away, so it could be a nice high-upside pick that not many are on.
