Chris Sale Will Throw When He's Pain-Free
5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (elbow) will resume his throwing schedule “[When he is] absolutely pain-free,” according to interim manager Ron Roenicke. Roenicke also mentioned that the earliest Sale will throw is on Saturday or Sunday, but it will all depend on how the left-hander is feeling in his recovery. After the 30-year-old was diagnosed with a flexor strain in his left elbow, it was reported that he would be re-evaluated in a 10- to 14-day period of time. Sale enters the 2020 season with a level of uncertainty after an injury-shortened 2019 season, making the 30-year-old ace a risky option in the early rounds of fantasy drafts this spring.
