Chris Thompson A Non-Factor Against Panthers
5 years agoWashington Redskins running back Chris Thompson was held in check on Sunday, accounting for just 29 total yards on four touches. While the per-touch efficiency was certainly there, Thompson wasn't needed much as a pass-catcher in a game the Redskins dominated on the ground with Adrian Peterson and Derrius Guice. Thompson will continue to suffer as a fantasy asset anytime game script flows positively in Washington's favor. If the Redskins are enjoying success on the ground, Thompson is likely to fall into the background of the game plan. This is especially true with Dwayne Haskins at quarterback, as the rookie signal-caller hasn't earned himself a great deal of faith throwing the ball. Thompson should be viewed as a matchup-dependent spot-starter in fantasy lineups, and an unsafe one at that.
