Chris Thompson Bumps Up To RB2/3 For Week 2
6 years agoWashington Redskins running back Chris Thompson is primed for a big game versus the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Thompson was fantastic in Week 1, as he compiled 128 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown against Arizona. He totaled 65 yards on five carries as he broke four of the runs for 10 or more yards. The fifth-year back's six receptions and seven targets were a team high against the Cardinals. Thompson finished the game with 63 receiving yards, including a 13-yard catch for a score. It marked the 25-year-old's third highest rushing total of his career and the fourth time that he has produced at least 60 yards receiving since the beginning of the 2017 campaign. Indianapolis is coming off a Week 1 loss to Cincinnati where its defense surrendered 28 points and permitted 330 total yards. The Bengals were led by running back Joe Mixon, who racked up 149 total yards and a score. Thompson, who is a weekly flex option, gets a bump to RB2/RB3 status as a result of this juicy matchup against the Colts.
