7 years agoFree-agent starting pitcher Chris Tillman is expected to sign with a team in the next 48 to 72 hours, and he's had significant talks with the Orioles, Twins and two other teams, according to an industry source. There remains mutual interest between Tillman and the Orioles in a reunion. Baltimore remains focused on adding to the rotation, even after signing starter Andrew Cashner this week. Tillman struggled to a 7.84 ERA over 20 games and 19 starts in 2017, but he had a 3.91 ERA and averaged 14 wins and 32 starts with Baltimore from 2013 to 2016. Because of his rough year, the soon-to-be 30-year-old is seeking a one-year deal so he can test the free-agent market again next offseason. A second-half shoulder injury may have been mostly to blame for Tillman's disappointing 2017 season, and his K/9 dropped to a measly 6.1. It's possible that Tillman could bounce back for fantasy owners in 2018, but nobody should be rushing to find out. Landing in pitcher-friendly Minnesota would be Tillman's best bet for fantasy purposes.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
