7 years agoFree-agent starting pitcher Chris Tillman threw for the Detroit Tigers on Saturday. The Orioles are one of three teams currently in the mix to sign Tillman, and he's expected to settle on a team in the next two days, according to a source. Baltimore remains a favorite to re-sign him because of their familiarity with him the previous nine seasons. The veteran right-hander had a bad year in 2017, posting a 7.83 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and 63 K's in 93 innings (19 starts). A shoulder injury in the second half may have played a big part, so he could bounce back in 2018. In Detroit, he'd likely be assured a starting spot on a rebuilding club. Moving out of the tough American League East and hitter-friendly environment in Baltimore would help his cause.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
