Chris Wideman To Man First Power-Play Unit
6 years agoOttawa Senators defenseman Chris Wideman will start the year on the first defensive pairing, along with manning the first power-play duties on special teams. While Wideman didn't look great enough to warrant PP1 duties over Thomas Chabot, he certainly boasts offensive skills that could make him a solid fantasy asset. With eight points in 16 games before a season-ending injury, he was on pace for a 41 point season on the third pairing AND on the second powerplay unit. It's safe to say Wideman could really be a valuable asset this season, and should be given consideration in deeper leagues, as well as shallower leagues.
