5 years agoBoston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Yankees. The 28-year-old now has 17 long balls on the year, which is well past his previous career-high of five. He's been a steady source of offense, hitting .285 with a .819 OPS, while driving in 48 runs and scoring 47 more. Those are solid numbers for a backstop who was set to split time entering the season. While Boston seems to be fading, Vazquez doesn't want his career season to end. If he is somehow still available in your league, he has a real shot at finishing as a top six catcher this season, so it would be a good idea to scoop him up.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
